Definition:
Primary malnutrition may be defined as under nutrition due to the environmental
unavailability of essential food staffs.
Secondary
malnutrition though adequate food is available, due to a number of reasons
the individual may be unable to make full use of the available nutrients.
Factors
helping in the diagnosis of malnutrition are :
(a) predisposing illnesses (b) manifestation of malnutrition and (c) complicating illness.
