Importance
: There are a variety of medical problems associated with increased risk in performing dental procedures. Proper knowledge of these medical problems, identification of these medical problems in the dental patient, adopting precautionary measures while treating them, and an awarness about management of medical emergencies are of immense importance in the dental practice. Dental practitionars should take a thorough case history before carrying out dental procedures. Patients should be routinely asked about various medical problems. In situations where the patients does not give history of any medical problem, dentist should know when to refer him/her to the physician for medical evaluation. |
