Erosion

Definition: This is defined as the loss of dental hard tissue as a result of a chemical process not involving bacteria. The causative agent is usually acid. The source of acid may be dietary, regurgitated from sotmack and industrial.

Causes
1. Dietory erosion :
Common site : Labial surface of upper anteriar teeth caused by intake of food and drink with low pH
• citrous fruit and juices
• pickels and other food and drink containing vinegar, that   is acetic acid.
• Carbonated drink which contain carbonic acid
• Acidic medication.
